I fully understand the anxiety associated with wanting to see your latest manuscript published as soon as possible so that you can promote the bejesus out of it until it hits the New York Times bestseller list. Every author feels the same way, believe me. However, taking a step back to make sure that your manuscript is polished and reads like a pro will guarantee it's longevity. After all, once out there, it has to stand on its own merits.
